Introducing Memory: tell Glara once, and it applies everywhere

Tired of repeating yourself? Memory stores your corrections, brand guidelines and claims rules, and applies them to everything Glara writes. Here is how it works and how you stay in control.

Glara Team

|

Say it once. Glara remembers.

Tired of repeating yourself? Product names, ingredient lists, where you manufacture, the words you never want to see next to your brand. Your team should only have to say these things once.

Memory is the biggest update yet to Customizations in Glara. Your brand guidelines and saved instructions now live together with everything Glara has learned about your brand, in one place: your tone of voice, your audience, your positioning, and what you can and cannot claim. Every Glara agent reads Memory before it works on your store, and it keeps growing as your team works with Glara. You say it once, and Glara applies it everywhere.

Why we built this

Good optimizations start with a deep understanding of the brand. Glara already uses your brand guidelines and Refine instructions to shape what it writes. Memory takes this a big step further and becomes the foundation of every Glara agent. It brings together what already defines your brand: your guidelines, your product catalog, the instructions your team gives, and how AI assistants describe you today. And when something is missing, your team adds it once and Glara keeps it.

A detailed view of what Glara sees around your brand. Memory lays all of this out page by page, including what Glara finds on your public pages and in your tech stack, so you can see how Glara understands your brand and how AI describes it today.

Clarity on what the agents work from. Every agent reads Memory before it works on your store, and every line shows where it came from. When an optimization takes a certain direction, you can see the rules and sources behind it.

Optimizations that are even more on brand. Your guidelines, your corrections and Glara's research now come together in one consistent set of rules. A preference you give on one product becomes a rule for your whole brand, and your input always comes first.

What is inside Memory

You find Memory under Settings in Glara. It is a set of pages, and agents read every page, in order, before they work on your store.

  • Profile is what Glara learned about your brand during onboarding and from your markets and integrations, including the categories, product types and customer needs Glara optimizes for. It is the foundation for everything else.

  • Claims and Voice cover how you write: what may and may not be claimed, plus your tone, terminology and the words you never use.

  • Products, Catalog, Positioning and Audience cover what you sell and to whom: product-specific facts, how your ranges are organized, what sets you apart, and who you speak to.

  • Commerce, Stack and Operations cover how your business runs: pricing, shipping, returns, promotions, the systems behind your store, and who signs off on what.

  • Market shows how AI answers describe your brand, which sources speak for it, and how competitors are framed.

Next to the pages sit your documents, such as brand books and written guidelines.

How Memory learns

Memory is built from three kinds of input, and every page shows which one changed it last.

Your corrections. Every instruction you type into Refine is analyzed as soon as you send it. If it describes a lasting preference rather than a one-off fix, it is saved to Memory and used in every future generation. If you give the same instruction on several products, Glara turns it into one rule for the whole brand. Refinements made before Memory launched were included too, so your brand starts with what your team has already taught Glara.

Your documents. Upload your brand guidelines and Glara turns them into rules across the right pages. Each rule links back to the file it came from. If you remove a document, everything that came only from it is removed too.

Glara's own research. So you never start from a blank page, Glara pre-fills Memory from your catalog, the AI answers collected about your brand, your public pages and your tech stack. Your team reviews this draft instead of writing everything from scratch.

Memory then feeds every Glara agent: product optimizations, FAQs, Editorial briefs, collection pages, UGC, Refine and Ask Glara.

What it looks like in practice

The Voice page in Memory: every line shows its source

Take the Voice page of a demo skincare and haircare brand. A few of its lines:

  • "Write in British English: colour, moisturiser, favourite." Added by the brand.

  • "Say 'skin barrier', not 'skin shield'." Taken from the brand book PDF, with a link to the file.

  • "Never say 'anti-ageing'. Say 'fine lines look softer' or 'visibly smoother' instead." Added by the brand.

  • "Keep product descriptions concise." Learned from a refine on a single vitamin C serum, now applied to every product.

  • "Recurring texture language includes 'silky', 'balm-like' and 'lightweight'." Observed by Glara in the product catalog.

The Claims page of the same brand keeps every claim cosmetic: "helps reduce the look of", never "treats" or "cures". On the Commerce page, the brand book corrected an older shipping threshold and return window, and agents now use the corrected version.

Every line tells you where it came from, so your team can check any rule in seconds.

You stay in control

An AI that learns about your brand is only useful if you can see what it learned and change it. Memory is built around that.

  • Your word wins. Information from your brand, whether it is an edit, an uploaded document or a Refine instruction, always outranks Glara's own research. If the research contradicts something your brand said, the research is discarded.

  • Only you set claims rules. Glara's research can describe what your brand says publicly, but it can never allow or forbid a claim. Only your team can. This matters most in categories where wording is sensitive or regulated, such as skincare, supplements and food.

  • Every line shows its source. Each point links to where it came from: a task, a product, an AI response or a document. Lines your team gave are marked "Added by brand".

  • Easy to correct. Edit any page or delete a line. A deleted line stays deleted. Every save is kept in the page history, so you can restore an earlier version at any time.

How to use it

  1. Open Settings, then Memory, and review the draft. Glara has already pre-filled your pages. Correct anything that is wrong or missing.

  2. Upload your brand guidelines. Glara turns them into rules and links each one back to your file.

  3. Check your Claims page. If you sell in a claim sensitive category, make sure it reflects what you are allowed to say.

  4. Keep using Refine as usual. Every lasting correction is saved automatically. Over time you will need to refine less.

Where this fits

Glara measures your AI visibility, finds the gaps and fixes them. Memory sits underneath every fix. It makes sure each optimization sounds like your brand and follows your rules, so your team spends its time approving changes instead of rewriting them. As AI answers change and Glara keeps optimizing, every new round starts from what your team has already decided, not from zero.

This is the first version of Memory, and it will be the foundation for the agents we are building at Glara. The more your team works with Glara, the better every agent understands your brand.
